3 quick tips to Fix “Excel 2013 has stopped working” Error Message

After this error message every time when you try to open your Excel file, it will crash and you will be receiving the same error message. 1 - Replace your Default Printer


If your PC is connected with printer then you might get this error message, the reason behind it is that it automatically starts to communicate with your printer to recognize margins and if this communication does not processed successfully then you get this error. In order to fix this issue you have to just change your connected printer. Follow the below steps to change your printers:

Click on Start button>Control panel>"Devices and Printers">Set as default printer

Sometimes when you install corrupt driver from internet for your printer you may get this error. It is because the corrupt driver also corrupts the Excel file and hence you must uninstall your driver and re-install it. In most cases it will solve your issue.

2 - Alter user mode as Administrator


This is another method to fix this error. It work and it may work for you as well. Start your PC with administrator account because sometimes admin approval is needed to do some changes.
For staring your computer as administrator you just need to right click on the Excel application icon and then select “'Open as Administrator”. After this changes you can use excel as you wish.



3 - Repairing Excel file


If the error still exists then it would be due to corruption in Excel file. In such cases you have to repair it by using third party tool.
